Walker Wee Willie- If Nothing Ever Changes

Sometimes you can hear a song that can touch your heart in a way that can change the way you hear music. Sometimes, rarely, you can have an opportunity to purchase a recording that has not just one, but instead, 12 of them! The new Wee Willie Walker release, If Nothing Ever Changes, IS that heaven sent rare recording. I'm happy to share that I had the joyful opportunity to be the proverbial fly on the wall during these sessions, and I must say that Mr. Walker's voice provided some of the most heartfelt, and comforting sounds my ears have ever enjoyed. I experienced a genuine sense of familiarity upon a first listen to songs I'd never heard before. I walked away singing these treasures and feeling like they had been part of my whole existence here, just waiting for the true pleasure of being introduced! As we all know, there are many in our world who can sing quite well. With Wee Willie Walker, there's a genuine honesty in his earnest delivery that shines through his ballads, and a youthful levity on his sharply entertaining uptempo offerings that comes across as absolutely contagious. When he smiles you hear it, and you won't be able to hold back a smile in return. When he laughs, it's real. And, when he sings of the perils of owning a heart, you will probably cry. The recording was made at Greaseland Studios, under the helm of a young musical genius known as Kid Andersen. Kid, along with his brilliant fellow producer and bandmate, Rick Estrin of Rick Estrin & The Nightcats, smoothly created the perfect casual environment, where they brought upon a silver platter a truly compelling, thoughtfully chosen song list that could stand up against any great record on your shelf. Add a band line-up of an array of the very, very best bay area musicians and voila', MAGIC! This new recording stands proudly on its own today, but indeed has the nostalgic feel and quality of every timeless Soul classic that anyone can name. Nostalgia can just be a longing for "good" these days, and thankfully, at least for now, we have the cure. If Nothing Ever Changes is a "favorite" just waiting to take reign over disc players and Ipods all over the world. Who doesn't have a place in their soul for Soul? Letting more in can only help, and it's safe to say we all could use an aurally happy place to go each day. Do yourself a favor, BUY THIS RECORD! :)
