Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the R&B artist plus four additional tracks..................... Hank Ballard led one of the finest R&B groups on the `50s circuit. The erotic and visceral Midnighters, propelled by a driving rhythm of guitar, bass and drums, shocked the world of religious music with sexually-charged material. Ballard's vocal style was usually steamy, his lyrics laden with innuendo, and he kept up a furious pace throughout each record. This release includes two of the group's finest LPs in their entirety: The One and Only (1960) and Spotlight on Hank Ballard (1961). Both musical goldmines were originally issued by the King label, and have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collector's edition, which also includes 4 bonus tracks, consisting of hard to find sides from the same period. Here you'll witness how Ballard twisted and expanded his Clyde McPhatter influence into a raw, gritty sound that inspired James Brown.................
