This riff based band has put out 6 releases over the past 3 decades and this set samples from all of them. With two tenors- a baritone & trumpet as well as harmonica BLUE LUNCH SPECIAL carries a big punch to the ears......The material is tight & well played and shows the benefits of playing together so long....Guitarist BOB FRANk has a languid T-Bone style that crops up at the right times but never dominates the song.....Their covers of JACKIE BRENSTON, ROBERT LOCKWOOD & the FIVE ROYALES are where they really shine, although the orginals (half of the tracks) are faithful to the brassy sound..........
