2 LPs ON 1 CD + 5 BONUS TRACKS
Through the gospel-impassioned fury of his vocals and the complex polyrhythms of his beats, James Brown became the single most important figure in the transformation of rhythm & blues into SOUL music. This release includes James Brown & His Famous Flames' two seminal studio albums which have been long out of print: Tour the U.S.A. (1962), despite the title, this is not a live record (although the set almost has the same feeling as some of the James Brown Show LPs), and the hard to find Night Train (1961).
The latter LP features Brown and his band performing on half of the tracks, plus some instrumental pieces by other artists on the King label it also contains 5 bonus tracks from the same period, which weren't included on either album.
