This previously UNRELEASED session was recorded November 10, 1969 and features Jimmy Dawkins and Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith............. Filled with simple stark images and direct unadorned vocals SUNNY ROAD captures the gentle giant of Mississippi blues at his best............Crudup's guitar was amped through the same rotating Leslie speaker that Buddy Guy used on Junior Wells' Hoodoo Man Blues for seven of the nine songs and adds a new twist to his style.......... There's also a talk between Crudup and producer Bob Koester which is a highlight of the release with Koester trying to get Crudup to play a fast song......the result is hilarious!!!......
