Born in rural Louisiana in the early 1940s, Doucet was a sharecropper who soaked in the rich traditions of zydeco & swamp blues before moving to Houston in 1962. He was an integral part of both Clifton Chenier and Freddie King’s bands during this time, but with the rise of disco in the 1970s his blues career fell by the wayside. After a long hiatus, Doucet was discovered accidentally by a blues writer taking photographs in a Houston parking lot. That chance discovery led to a meeting with DIALTONE Records, and the result is a deep set of some of the most soulful Texas blues ever. 1. Got You On My 2. I Ain't Going Down 3. Hey Leo 4.
