Robert Ealey was a regular performer at the Bluebird Cafe in Ft. Worth along with fellow Texan Ray Sharpe. Originally released on Topcat Records, this bluesy recording has a great band in support including MIKE MORGAN, COCO MONTOYA, SUMTER BRUTON, HASH BROWN & JOHNNY RENO. All songs are claimed by Ealey whose well worn vocal delivery is juiced up by the young ens' in the band. I'm sure Percy Mayfield, Buddy Johnson & Jimmy Reed would have something to say about his authorship of "The River" & "Goin' To New York" & "Please Mr. Johnson."
