Johnny Rawls is one of the last of his breed, a true soul survivor. He was O.V. Wright's music director and was with the great singer when he died. He kept the band together for several years opening for and backing Little Johnny Taylor and other stars before embarking on a solo career. His last 4 albums have all been nominated for Blues Music Awards with Ace of Spades winning Soul Album of the Year in 2010. He has won two straight Living Blues Magazine Critics' Choice for Southern Soul Album of the Year.......
