This is the first multi-label overview of Louisiana-born singer Oscar McLollie's 1950s recordings, covering much of his output for Class, Modern, and Mercury Records. On record the Honey Jumpers consisted of top West Coast studio musicians mainly led and arranged by tenor sax man Maxwell Davis, often with The Flairs vocal group on ensemble or back-up vocals. There is so much great West Coast jump blues & rock & roll here, I had to give it 3 spins on the record machine when I first got it!

Although he never enjoyed any national hits, Oscar McLollie had several local best-sellers and even saw 1950s releases in Canada, Jamaica, France, Belgium and the UK
