This collection of 1958-59 St. Louis recordings by the Kings Of Rhythm is some of the toughest & wildest recordings put on wax by Ike Turner & his whammy bar guitar. Loud & aggressive, it's tough beyond words and really captures the band pre-Tina at it's powerful best. The second disc collects some of the other artists on the label including 6 down home sides from LITTLE COOPER & THE DRIFTERS who recorded a good cd for Black Magic label a decade or so ago and feature laconic harmonica. Johnny Wright is the same artist who recorded on RPM the magnificent "The World Is Yours" in the style of Guitar Slim & Sammy Grimes is a rockin' horn band. Don't miss this one..............
