This CD contains two of Doggett’s finest albums from this period: "Everybody Dance the Honky Tonk", and the equally-splendid "Doggett Beat for Dancing Feet". Both LPs are highly recommended for fans of uptempo organ/saxophone combos. They have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collector’s edition, which also contains 5 bonus tracks – including overlooked sides issued by the King label during the same period, such as “Gumbo,” the Halloween novelty “Monster Party,” “Real Gone Mambo,” a vocal version of “Honky Tonk” (which includes vocals by Tommy Brown), and the proto-funky “Hold It” (later covered by James Brown & His Famous Flames)
Recorded in New York, Chicago, and Cincinnati, 1953-1957
