Description
Blues music has always dealt with issues that everyone can identify with, whether they be economic, social or political in nature. The immediate post-war period provided much fuel for Blues artists of the day – the civil rights situation, the atom bomb, the Cold War, Korea and of course the Republican victory in 1956. It’s no coincidence that some of the best blues songs ever waxed were recorded during President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s administration (1952 - 1960) including one that was actually named after him. We are happy to present this collection of classic Blues from the era including the original version of "Eisenhower Blues" by the great J.B. Lenoir. 1. TOUGH TIMES-John Brim 2. WEST COAST BLUES-Ernest Lewis 3. FINE GIRLS-J.B. Lenoir 4. LOOKIN’ FOR MY BABY-Little Papa Joe (Jody Williams) 5. 1958 BLUES-Little Sammy Davis 6. JEALOUS MAN-Johnny Lewis (Joe Hill Louis) 7. YES, SHE’S GONE-Dusty Brown 8. BLUE, BLUE BOOGIE-Nature Boy Brown 9. SANTA FE-Baby Boy Warren 10. WOW WOW WOW-Willie Egan 11. NO MORE LOVIN’-Ernest Lewis 12. A FOOL NO MORE-Eddie Hope and the Mannish Boys 13. FALLING RAIN BLUES-Little Willie Foster 14. GARY STOMP-John Brim 15. BE ON YOUR MERRY WAY-Albert King 16. GOING BACK TO MEMPHIS-Sunnyland Slim 17. MATTIE MAE-Baby Boy Warren 18. WRONG BLUES-Curtis Jones 19. EISENHOWER BLUES-J.B. Lenoir
