Dust My Rhythm & Blues is the first of a series devoted to the R&B recordings released on Modern's subsidiary, Flair, between 1953 and 1956. Originally Modern's hillbilly and country imprint, after nine releases in that field, the Biharis switched Flair over to R&B which is where this story begins. Flair boasted some of the best artists signed to Modern, including Elmore James, Ike Turner and Richard Berry. The 50 tracks on this CD represent every facet of the music that came out on Flair during its relatively short lifetime and include almost 20 previously unissued alternate takes of masters that are available elsewhere. 26 have never been issued on CD until now. More than 90% of the tracks are freshly remastered from original tape transfers. Where tape was unavailable, fresh dubs have been sourced and re-copied. Even if you have some of this material elsewhere you will never have heard it as good as it sounds here...........
